A Training of Trainers Program for Masters in Family Medicine

The Ministry of Health and Sports, the Department of Human Resources for Health (DHRH) conducted Family Medicine Induction Seminar on November 7 and 8 at the University of Medicine 1. This seminar was organised by the Myanmar Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) and facilitated by the Boston University Global Health Collaborative (BUGHC) as the resource person.
Invited guests of honour attended the opening ceremony in the day1 morning, among them were director general and deputy director general of DHRH, rectors, MMC chairman and MAMS chairman.
During the two-day TOT sessions, the masters in Family Medicine curriculum draft was reviewed and the nature of family medicine and family doctors were elaborated. The teaching methods in outpatient settings and student evaluation methods were also discussed. The participants were highly interested and actively involved in all the small group sessions and general discussions.
The seminar yielded outputs and action items for DHRH and MAFP in preparedness for upcoming masters in family medicine program and family medicine development in Myanmar.
